Library Services for Guests & Alumni

The SDCC Library is currently only available to students, faculty, staff or alumni of SDCC or SCS.

Guest Library Card

The majority of the SDCC Library print collection is currently in storage and not accessible

Faculty from WSCUC or SCELC member institutions, pastors from churches located in Santee or El Cajon, and those eligible through the reciprocal borrowing programs (Atla, SCATLA, and ACL) are provided library circulation privileges at no cost but need to apply for a card. Persons who audit courses at SDCC or SCS will be given circulation privileges until the end of the term for the audited course.

Other groups that may apply for a guest library card are SDCC and SCS alumni, distance education students (with student ID), and local community users. Guest library cards will not be issued to anyone under 18 years of age. A librarian must review and authorize all applications.

To obtain a guest library card, fill out and sign the Library Card Application and bring it to the Library or mail it to:

San Diego Christian College Library
280 Riverview Pkwy
Santee, CA
92071

or

Southern California Seminary Library
2075 E. Madison Ave.

Be sure to include the $25 annual fee. Once your application has been received, please allow 1 week for your card to be mailed to you.

Circulation

The guest library card may only be used by the person to whom it was issued. Up to three (3) items may be checked out for a three (3) week period with one (1) renewal allowed. Books can be renewed in person, by email, by phone or by logging into your library account ON or BEFORE the due date. Items can be renewed by calling (619) 201-8680, by email or through your My Library account. If books are three weeks overdue, the circulation privileges will be cancelled without refund. The library reserves the right to recall any items before their due date. Guest library card holders agree to pay all replacement costs for lost/damaged library books within 3 weeks after due date. Guests must agree to give prompt notice of any change of address, phone number, or of card loss.

Computing and Research Databases

The College Library’s 8 computers and the Seminary Library’s 3 computers provide access to the internet and email. Please check-in at the Circulation desk and we will be happy to log you on as our guest and assist you with printing and copying.

The library subscribes to research databases through EBSCO, Proquest, Sage, Gale-Cengage and many more. Due to license agreements with vendors, as a guest you may only utilize these databases while in the library. For details about each database, see the Research Databases page.
